From 16 to 19 January, four staff from TVA Engineering attended a 4-day training session on the ETAP Power Station 16.2 software delivered by the ETAP Automation France training body. The software is used to design HV/LV electrical installations.
This training initiative reflects TVA Engineering’s desire to develop not only the competences of its electricity department but also its staff’s skills. For TVA Engineering, staff training is essential to ensuring its long-term competitiveness.
We would especially like to congratulate Nicolas Hochard for his diploma in Electrical Power Systems Engineering EPRM – Network Power Electronics and Motorisation, with distinction, on 28 September 2017.
You may already know that this training course is registered with the RNCP, (the French Directory of Professional Certification), and dispensed by the CNAM (the French Conservatory of Arts and Crafts), in partnership with the school “Arts and Crafts ParisTech”. The aim is to “train engineers capable of designing and implementing electric technology for tomorrow, in response to major developments in energy production, transport and consumption, while integrating environmental and energy efficiency”.
Remember that Nicolas joined TVA Engineering on 22 September 2014 as an apprentice engineer. Despite many upheavals encountered by the firm during this period, Nicolas managed to adapt by absorbing as much of his tutors’ experience as possible and thereby acquiring the level of design studio electrical engineer. We are delighted today to extend our congratulations for his latest promotion to Electrics Engineer on 25 September 2017, after three years’ training. We hope he enjoys a long career with TVA Engineering.
Nicolas is a shining example of smooth integration, demonstrating once again that TVA Engineering has the capacity to train staff in its core lines of business: electricity, instrumentation, controls, automation, general installations and pipe fittings. We hope that this experience will continue to set an example in the near future. Because this is another facet of the “TVA spirit”!
During the month of February, the commissioning team of the TVA Group has performed work for Maurel & Prom on the sites of Onal and Gweddi. This involved three missions:
- The provisional switch-over of Deutz generation to Aggreko generation in the framework of increasing the water injection capacities of the site;
- The electrical connection between the ONAL 400 and ONAL 600 platforms;
- The start-up of the ESP pump on the existing wells via a new ESP 100kVA cabin.
In all these missions, we provided our know-how to the teams from Maurel & Prom, Bossard, Flowserve and ABB. The Maurel & Prom management has congratulated all of the participants for their involvement in these projects and maintains its confidence in us for the follow on of the commissioning.
After FOXTROT who recently awarded us an EPC contract for the supply of a Black-Start unit, it is the turn of SARA to place its confidence in us for a new EPC.
The company SARA (Société Anonyme de Raffinerie des Antilles), which TVA has worked with for more than ten years, has awarded us the contract for revamping the High Voltage (5.5 kV) switchgear. Installed in sub-station no. 1, it supplies the electrical consumers of its refinery situated in Lamentin, Martinique.
The new switchgear shall be comprised of 14 French-made, Schneider brand MCset reference cells. It will also be equipped with SEPAM digital protection relays. Acceptance of the installations shall take place at the end of October 2017.
Arnaud Lahutte, Manager of the Engineering Division of TVA Group, Jean-François Hénin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Maurel & Prom, and Antoine Tran Van, Managing Director of TVA Group.
Mr Jean-François Hénin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Maurel & Prom, visited us on the 4th of October. The presence of Mr Hénin was notably the occasion to discuss the future of the operation of the ONAL site in Gabon.
Maurel & Prom has decided to contract with us for the studies regarding phase V whose aim is to increase electrical generation from 4 to 10.6 MW.
The recent acquisition by the National Indonesian oil company, Pertamina, of a bit less than 25% of the capital of Maurel & Prom, does not imply therefore, a decrease in our activity. Quite the reverse.
On Thursday, 24 March, TVA Group was present at the 8th edition of the Clic & Power: Careers Exhibition for the Energy Industry in Paris. Represented by Daniel Tasteyre, Thomas Robin and Zineb Kamar, TVA Group profited from exposure at this exhibition to reinforce its prominence with professionals in this sector and to expand its recruiting network so as to satisfy our clients who are always looking for more and more qualified profiles.
Mr Jean-François Hénin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Maurel & Prom, paid us a visit this week. M&P is an independent oil company specialized in the extraction of oil and gas. M&P is quoted on the Euronext stock exchange and is very active in Africa, mainly in Nigeria, Gabon and Tanzania. The Group has worked with Maurel & Prom for more than ten years, notably on the ONAL site.
FOXTROT International has once again renewed its confidence in the TVA Group by entrusting us with the integration of a “black start” electrical generator set, in the form of an EPC contract. This set will have a power of 400kVA and shall be part of an offshore gas production platform off the coast of the Ivory Coast.
At the dawn of a new era with the removal of economic sanctions against Iran, TVA GROUP participated in the seminar “Perspectives and Opening of the market in IRAN, held on 18 November 2015 at the Bourse de Commerce in Paris.
Mr José Manuel BRANDAO, Managing Director of TCPI, recently paid us a visit. TCPI is an electrical and instrumentation installation company which works in the Oil & Gas sector throughout the world. Its headquarters are in Lisbon, Portugal. We have examined possible synergies on certain of our projects.
